Discover the journey of the Miriam T. O’Bryant-Development Studies Center (MTOB-DSC), from its roots in the Development Education Network-Liberia (DEN-L) to its establishment as a pioneering institution dedicated to affordable, accessible, and transformat
Christian University College stands on the solid foundation of a commitment to academic excellence and community transformation. Since our founding in 2019 in Paynesville City, Montserrado County, and our approval by the Ministry of Education, Liberia, we have dedicated ourselves to providing quality, accessible higher education that serves the needs of the Liberian people.
Liberia's journey to recovery after years of conflict revealed a profound need: a critical shortage of skilled, trained professionals to lead community and national development. Through years of engagement with communities, students, and partners, Christian University College heard a consistent and resounding call for accessible, practical, and professionally driven higher education.
The challenges were stark:
The Educational Divide: Promising high school graduates and dedicated community workers across Liberia had limited access to affordable, local higher education opportunities that could prepare them for meaningful careers.
A Professional Training Void: Aspiring professionals in education, business, health sciences, and public service lacked specialized degree programs to advance their careers and effectiveness.
The Imperative of Inclusion: There was an urgent need to create pathways for marginalized groups, including women and youth, to become architects of their own development and contributors to the nation's future.
Heeding this call, Dr. Henry T. B. Mulbah Founded Christian University College (CUC) on April 4, 2019, through the educational board of BOLD CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (Arlington-Texas, USA). The institution was conceived as a beacon of hope and opportunity—a practical, accessible, and perfect alternative for those dedicated to the hard work of building a stronger Liberia. It was designed not just as a university, but as a catalyst for personal, institutional, and societal transformation, offering certificate, diploma, associate, and bachelor's degree programs across multiple colleges.
Christian University College carries forward the core values that define our work. Our philosophy is built upon:
Transparency & Honesty: We commit to authenticity in all our dealings, fostering trust within our community and with our partners.
Collaboration & Innovation: We believe in the power of partnership, diversity, and creative thinking to maximize educational impact through our affiliations with universities in the USA, India, Korea, Japan, and Ghana.
Accountability: We are accountable first and foremost to the students and communities we serve, and to all who support our mission of providing quality Christian higher education.
Equity & Justice: We strive to create a level playing field where every individual has the opportunity to realize their potential and contribute to lasting change.
Christian University College is more than an institution; it is a fulfillment of a promise to the people of Liberia. It is a living legacy of resilience, a testament to the power of visionary leadership, and a steadfast commitment to educational excellence that serves the nation.
